Sector linking

Sector linking stands for the interconnectedness of the electricity, heat and transportation sectors. By linking them up intelligently, renewable energies from the wind and sun can also be used for the generation of heat and for mobility.

In this way, man-made greenhouse gas emissions can be reduced in all economic and social areas.

When peak loads are generated, wind and photovoltaic power plants are under the threat of curtailment by the grid operator. If this happens, a lot of, potentially renewably produced, energy gets lost. An instrument for the storage and transformation of volatile generated energy is the battery (e-mobility).
